Trafalgar FyreBOARD Maxilite

Maxilite is a lightweight, high performance fire rated board. Maxilite is a calcium silicate based product and is bonded together with non-organic binders. It is completely free from asbestos, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and ozone depleting potential (ODP). Maxilite is an extremely effective insulating refractory board. The board is stable under high temperature stress and remains strong and crack free, even when exposed to fully developed fires.

Due to the lightweight construction of the board, Maxilite is easy to handle and work with, ensuring quick onsite installation, whilst retaining suitable fire performance. Maxilite’s high fire performance ensures minimal thicknesses are required, hence less material usage and cost.

Cast-in conduits

FyreBOARD Maxilite is a lightweight, calcium silicate board material that can be used in a large range of passive fire applications. Where deck boxes and/or cast-in conduits are set into concrete floor slabs, FyreBOARD Maxilite has been approved for use as a compliant penetration system when installed to the soffit of the slabs. Services that pass through the FyreBOARD Maxilite such as cables, can be sealed with FyreFLEX sealant and continuous PVC conduits may be treated by installing a FyreCHOKE retrofit fire collar, fixed into the FyreBOARD Maxilite as shown in the installation drawings to achieve an FRL of up to -/120/120.

Concrete slab upgrades

FyreBOARD Maxilite® is a lightweight calcium silicate board material that can be used in a large range of passive fire applications. Suitable for concrete floor slabs, FyreBOARD Maxilite® has been approved for use as a compliant penetration system when installed to the soffit of the slabs. Services that pass through the FyreBOARD Maxilite® such as cables, can be sealed with FyreFLEX® sealant and continuous PVC conduits may be treated by installing a FyreCHOKE retrofit fire collar, fixed into the FyreBOARD Maxilite® as shown in the installation drawings to achieve an FRL of up to -/120/120.

Bulkhead systems

FyreBOARD Maxilite® is an ideal solution for bulkhead applications due to the lightweight construction of the board making it easy to handle and work with, ensuring quick onsite installation, whilst retaining suitable fire performance. FyreBOARD Maxilite®’s high fire performance ensures minimal thicknesses are required, hence less material usage and cost.  For bulkhead systems, FyreBOARD Maxilite® has been approved for fire ratings of 90mins, 120mins and 240mins for respective board thicknesses of 30mm, 40mm and 60mm.

Penetration systems

FyreBOARD Maxilite is available in 30mm, 40mm and 60mm thicknesses for use in fire protection of structural steel.  FyreBOARD Maxilite has been tested to various international test standards and is suitable for a large range of steel sizes and types.
